I consider myself a perpetual student valuing both staying abreast of latest developments in our field and pursuing ongoing personal development to bring the best to my clients.
I have given presentations in New York and North Carolina that cover an overview of the Comprehensive Resource Model for Treatment of Complex Trauma and other DSMV Diagnoses. Other presentations have centered on helping triggered therapists to use the CRM to resource themselves before, during, and after sessions with clients. I am a certified practitioner of the CRM and work with therapists seeking to fulfill the "personal work" requirement toward certification in the CRM.
I have taught Introductory Psychology at the college level in New York. I served for 3 years as a counselor at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. I am certified through NASW to offer supervision to LCSWAs in North Carolina. I also offer consultation for therapists from a trauma informed perspective.
I am a member of the North Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work . In the past I served as secretary and later as Chairperson for the Programs Committee.
I have no doubt that my calling in life is to foster healing in people with broken hearts and souls. In this quest I have had an interesting journey personally and professionally, so far. I find myself in an ongoing unfolding and awakening in spirit, soul and body. Within this process I let the hunger for more growth lead me to the teachers as well as the settings that would propel me on to the skills, answers, experiences, and relationships necessary for growth.
This developing, shaping, and refining is, of course, a life long process so I am not a guru on a hill. I'm very much aware that "the more I know, the more I know I don't know much". I'm a fellow sharing this particular stretch of time and space on this planet with you. My mission is to give generously from what I have been given when our paths meet and as we walk a little way together in the divinely choreographed dance of Life.
